Otter Wax

Heavy Duty Fabric Wax | Large Bar

$19.95

Our all-natural heavy duty fabric wax is made from the highest quality beeswax and proprietary blend of plant-based waxes and oils. The first and only water repellent wax that doesn’t utilize paraffin, silicone, or other petroleum-based synthetic ingredients.

The larger size of this bar is ideal for those wanting to treat larger items such as jackets or pants, so if you're on the fence about how much wax your project will require we recommend going with this size.

Instructions

Using Otter Wax is an easy way to improve the functionality and utility of virtually any item. It can be used to revive the waterproofing capabilities of factory-waxed or oiled clothing, and is also an excellent way to waterproof untreated fabrics. Use on a variety of clothing and equipment like jackets, hats, bags, tents, and more.

Rubbing the bar back and forth creates the perfect amount of heat to loosen wax and spread evenly into the top layer of fabric. Works best with natural fabrics, but can also be used on blends when natural fabrics are in the majority.

  • thoroughly clean and dry item before application
  • rub into fabric to create friction
  • smooth out with fingers to create uniform seal
  • allow item to cure in a warm, dry place for at least 24 hours
  • reapply as often as necessary
  • remove spot stains with Canvas Cleaner
  • deodorize with Odor Eliminator

    Water proof once again!

Every few years I need to re-wax my canvas coat and get it ready for winter. Ordered two bars of the Otter wax, knocked it out in half an hour and I’m good to go! Easy as can be.

With a double boiler, sponge brush, and a hair dryer, my waxed canvas chore apron came together wonderfully. Love this stuff.

Do it yourself; Waxed Upland bird hunting pants

First and foremost the fact that the product is a non-petroleum, all natural product, is a BIG DEAL! This was the primary reason I gave waxing some pants a try in the first place, as I was going through a pair of duck canvas pants (double fronted carpenter - made in the USA, Round House dungarees) every two years or so from the abuse of upland hunting, which in turn had me buying waxed chaps to keep from killing my favourite upland pants. Long story short - seven years ago I started with a new pair of pants, washed them 1/2 dozens times to soften them a touch, and then heavy waxed them to just above the knee all the way around the pant legs. After running those pants chapped and un-chapped for about two years with very good success, I decided to go all in and wax the whole pant. I no longer typically use chaps, and the pants really stand up to the elements and abrasion. Mostly wind proof, as well as being water resistant - bordering on water proof (mostly), and the developed patina (patina - patina - patina) is also a great cosmetic look! I love this product!!

I love the heavy duty wax a little better than most. It strengthens the material And putting armor like protection on. The heavy duty wax will last a lot longer and gives the added protection needed. Very nice thank you so much. 👍
