Our all-natural heavy duty fabric wax is made from the highest quality beeswax and proprietary blend of plant-based waxes and oils. The first and only water repellent wax that doesn’t utilize paraffin, silicone, or other petroleum-based synthetic ingredients.

Using Otter Wax is an easy way to improve the functionality and utility of virtually any item. It can be used to revive the waterproofing capabilities of factory-waxed or oiled clothing, and is also an excellent way to waterproof untreated fabrics. Use on a variety of clothing and equipment like jackets, hats, bags, tents, and more.

Instructions

Rubbing the bar back and forth creates the perfect amount of heat to loosen wax and spread evenly into the top layer of fabric. Works best with natural fabrics, but can also be used on blends when natural fabrics are in the majority.

  • thoroughly clean and dry item before application
  • rub into fabric to create friction
  • smooth out with fingers to create uniform seal
  • allow item to cure in a warm, dry place for at least 24 hours
  • reapply as often as necessary
  • remove spot stains with Canvas Cleaner

    Love the Heavy Duty Fabric Wax!

    I bought a heavy canvas Gold Coast Drover Jacket recently and wanted it to be waterproofed, so after much research, I discovered this product. I diligently followed the instructions on their website and the jacket came out beautifully. I haven’t had the chance to use it yet, however, as the temperature has not dropped enough yet (and it has not rained). Regardless, I cannot wait to wear it. I am certain that it will work exactly as expected (and I have high expectations!)

    Wax Everything.

    We live here in wet Portland so it only made sense to try out some Otter Wax. It was really easy to pick up the wax from the nice folks at the Otter Headquarters. The first item i (re)waxed was an apron that was factory waxed and needed some touch up. The bar takes quite a bit of friction and time to get going but the results are great. Second item has been a canvas hat and that used up a good chunk of the wax. I’m stoked on the way it looks but man is it taking a long time to dry. It’s been over a week and it’s still a bit tacky in spots. Mind you, I put on a hearty amount of wax to deal with these PNW rains. Overall very happy with the wax and already thinking about waxing a jacket (with the heat activated.)

    I used Otter Wax on a canvas bag I wanted to use in the rain and just tested it out today--amazing! It was very easy to apply, just took a bit of time to get every spot.
