Heat-Activated Fabric Dressing
Our Heat-Activated Fabric Dressing comes in a large 1/2-pint tin and provides enough wax to tackle those bigger projects. This item is perfect for those folks looking to achieve a more matte or ‘factory-waxed’ appearance.
Our Fabric Dressing is perfect for waterproofing unwaxed items, but it’s also a great option for those that want to use an all-natural wax treatment to re-waterproof their factory-waxed and oiled jackets. Applies easily when melted with a natural-bristle paint brush, soft cloth, and some elbow grease.
The application process contains a few more steps than our wax bars, but the extra effort yields fantastic results. Applying hot wax penetrates deep into fabrics and dramatically reduces cure time.
- place tin in 1.5" cool water
- use heating element to simmer until melted
- apply with a brush or lint-free cloth
- use only as much wax as can be absorbed
- rub into fabric with fingers for uniformity
- allow 24~48 hours for wax to cure
- remove spot stains with Canvas Cleaner
- deodorize with Odor Eliminator

Haven’t tried the wax yet but I’m optimistic. No doubt it will work well. It arrived in a timely fashion. Was very well packed. If anybody asks me I will give it a thumbs up. After shipping costs it becomes a little pricey. But options are few. So no complaints. Thanks for having the wax available.
Heat-Activated Fabric Dressing
I ordered two 1/2 pints. I was able to do 1 pair canvas carpenter pants and a pair of shorts. I applied with a large round brush and did an area from pants cuff up to knee, then used heat gun to melt wax into fabric. You will need a heat gun. Then continued to do both front and back. It is easy to get the hang of application and melting. Two days of drying and I have not worn them yet but poured water on the knee part of pants and it ran right off which looks promising. These pant will be for cold weather use and hope not only block water but I think it will help block wind.
I came across this product by pure luck, I was looking for clean wax products that are sustainable and work. It's wonderful stuff, definitely takes much longer to get to the liquid state than I had thought; however that's just my impatience. It smells great, I did find that stirring it with a take-out chopstick helped and applying it with the cloth helped a lot over the brush option. Rub it hard and use a wood scraper to distribute. I would recommend including a photo of the product for size refence, some reviews seem to not understand volume. This isn't a giant pail of wax; but waste not want not; it goes further than you think.
......not quite enough when covering a new denim jacket.
